Generations

I sometimes see Amritdhari bibia wearing Dastaars taking their young grandchildren to school. What hurts is that these young children are not following in their Grandmothers' footsteps, instead their hair is cut. What hurts more is when you see that this is what has universally happened to most Sikh families - our ancestors were great GurSikhs, but we have let them down. Slowly, throughout generations, we have forgotten how we, as Sikhs, should be living. Some of the youth are coming back onto the Path, but what will thier great grandchildren be like?

  1. Please consider looking into your history of punjab further. Great grandmothers did not go around looking like what you have depicted.
Sikhs are Sikhs regardless of their attire and regardless of whether they choose to cut their hair. Sikhs began cutting their hair to reduce the amount of racial slurs they would encounter and be less of a visible minority. The pair of scissors that they took to their beards and hair did not take away their love for their faith. Belief is in your mind and your heart, not in your appearance. Please do not confuse outward appearance for true inner belief. I see too many children looking like their "great grandmothers" as you have depicted but smoking, drinking and treating their community and religions with too much disrespect. Who cares about outward appearance!

    1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh!

Guru Gobind Singh Ji once was asked by a muslim, why he loved his Sikhs. He replied, I love my Sikhs discipline (Rehat), not just them. Guru Ji loves everyone because we are all his children however, this body belongs to God (Guru Ji).

      I.e.

You borrow your car from your friend for a day, you trash it, carelessly throw garbage in the inside, bump it against a pole, scrap the paint from the bumper and then the next day you return it to your friend.

      What will your friend say?

Now, Guru Ji is our only Friend for Guru Ji is everywhere. Sukhmani Sahib states that he alone is our supporter for he owns our soul.

Now if you trashed the body Guru Ji gave you, what do you think is going to happen, your going to happen to pay for it.

For humans, when we go against God (Guru Ji) we are sent to Dharam Raj, he gives us punishments for everything you have done against God.

      I.E.

      -Cutting hair on the body
      -Smoking/drinking/drugs
      -Adultery
      -Kutha Meat

When you take Amrit, the Panj Pyare outline the laws of Sikhi, and explain how one goes against God (Guru Ji).

After taking Amrit, we fall in love with our Kakkars, it's our Jewellery that Guru Ji gave to us to make us connected to him.

Gurbani is telling us to drink the Ambrosial Nectar, Amrit with Guru Ji's Kirpa.

This Rehat is what keeps us connected to Guru Ji.

As Gurmukh we receive the Naam (Waheguru) from the Panj Pyare in the Amrit Sanchar to cleanse our soul, to become connected to God (Guru Ji) again. As Gurmukh, we please God (Guru Ji), we respect and take care of the body that Guru Ji gave to us. To become spiritual, Gurbani tells us to focus inside, how can you focus inside, if you are stuck on the outside.

      I.e

I have to cut my hair a certain style to please others, i have to have this and that.

The mind is stuck in maya (maya is not money, maya is something that disconnects us from God {Guru Ji}].

The Mind desires go on and on and get stuck in the filth of Thrisna.

and after we die we go to Sach Kand (Realm of Truth).

Munmukhs, they follow there minds, they please themselves. They trash this body that Guru Ji gave them.

There are three worlds in this play, Earth, Hell (Narak), and Sach Kand (Only for GurSikhs).

All munmukhs go to Narak (Who ever does not take Amrit goes to hell), Gurbani tells us that our hair is important, its alive, its our connection to God (Guru Ji).

Punjab, then why did Subeg Sing and Taru Singh and the Sahib Zadey not die, they died for their Faith because they could not stand being separated from Guru Ji (God) for one minute. The minute you cut your hair, do another act against God you are separated from God.

When you are in the Amrit Sanchar Room, when the Panj Pyare give you Amrit, that is the day you give your life to Guru Ji.

      what does GurSikh mean?

      Guru 's Sikh.

      Cont'd.

    2. Because they are following the path Guru Ji laid down for them correctly.

In Gurbani it tells us that on judgement day, a munmukh (Non-Amritdhari)the messenger of death (Jam Dhoot) comes to get them to take them to Dharam Raj, the judge who determines your punishments in hell.

A GurSikh, they take Amrit, follow the Rehat that their Guru Ji wrote for them, Jaap Naam (Waheguru) and hereafer have Guru Ji come for them and take them to their home, their True home, Sach Kand.

I am chosen for Naam Simran seva in Amrit Sanchar's with Guru Ji's Kirpa in Surrey.

How can you be Amrit Dhari if you do not love your Rehat, being Amrit-Dhari is all abour Guru Ji's Kirpa.

And that comment on the grandma's, Every grandma was of high character, had Keske's, that bun on top of your head, is what keeps you connected to Guru Ji. When Mir Mannu came, they started killing the Singhnee too, because we all looked a like as the men. Every head was worth 3,000. The True GurSikh's didn't take off their Keske's, for example in Mir Manu's jail, all the grandma's has keske's. The coward GurSikhs took them off because they were scared of being killed, when they put their bun down, they got disconnected from Guru Ji and were not GurSikhs anymore. Once you take Amrit, your head is given to Guru Ji, your a sacrifice, we are Sikhs, we follow our Guru Ji's teaching, we cleanse from the inside and we keep our rehat from the outside with Guru Ji's Kirpa.

When Guru Tegh Bhadhur was martyred, no Sikh stood up (everyone blended in with the muslims and hindus), when the head of Guru Tegh Bhadhur came to Gobind Rai, Gobind Rai promied when he would grow older, he would make such a Sikh that would stand out in a crowd of thousands and Guru Gobind Singh Ji did just that, he made the Khalsa.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh!
